My New Bangs!

I felt like spicing things up this spring, so I cut my bangs. It was time for a much needed

My hair is growing!

Today was my relaxer day and boy was I ever so excited. It has been a looooong 8 weeks, but I am proud to say that my hair is growing beautifully. My goal of reaching APL by December '09 feels like an achievable one if my hair keeps growing at the rate it is growing. No one would believe 10 months ago I had a rhianna bob. I have posted some comparison pics. The top pic is from my relaxer in January and the bottom is from my relaxer today. Do yall see the gowth???!!!!

Last night I did the Aphogee two step protein treatment and the results were instant. When I combed my hair after rinsing it hair in the comb! That stuff is powerful! Anyway then I deep conditioned with Kera Care Humecto Conditioner for 45 minutes and them I applied the Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship Leave In. I did not like the way my hair felt when I put it felt a little hard, but I don't know if that had something to do with the protein treatment I did. Other than that it smelled really good. Next I plaited my hair and added the Garnier Fructis Anti Frizz Serum to each strand. This morning when I took my hair down I was pleasantly surprised:) My hair was very soft and my curls were very defined. My braid out has never looked like this! I think these two products will become apart of my regimen for a while.

My hair this week

This week I have been wearing my hair in a braid out. It is camouflaging my new growth beautifully. Luckily next week will be my relaxer week. I can't wait! It will be 8 weeks. Anyway, tonight I am going to do a Aphogee two step protein treatment. I have been noticing a little more breakage than usual and I have not done a hardcore protein treatment since the time has come. I also picked up some Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship Leave In and Garnier Fructis Anti -Frizz Serum. I'll post a review tomorrow.

another Twist-out

I have not done one in a while, so I did one last night on dry hair. I moisturized each strand with olive oil moisturizer and twisted my hair all over. Love my curly fro :)

"It shall be done....

Monday I had my interview in DC for the fellowship program I applied to and today the lady called me and told me that I was accepted. YES!!!!!!! God is so good!!! I am overjoyed. The excitement I feel is beyond words. I must admit the devil tried to win me over the other day... I got a little discouraged because I felt I did not do that well in the interview. I was feeling really down and I did no think I had a chance of being accepted. But I turned to the man up above and he gave me a powerful verse that went something like this:

"It shall be done for you as you have believed..." Matthew 8:13.

I meditated on this over and over. Knowing that if I believed then God would make it happen. And that he did! The devil did not win this time. No he did not! My Lord & Savior is AMAZING!!!

Now the transition begins... I have 5 weeks to pack and move to DC...this is going to be one crazzy month...oh well let the fun times begin :)

Today was Stressful!

A few weeks ago I applied to this fellowship program in Maryland. They called me back a week later and set up a phone interview with me last Friday. Then they call me back TODAY and tell me that they want me to come in for an in person interview NEXT WEEK! My mind went into panic mode. I live all the way in Texas, so getting to MD with such short notice is no hop & skip. I really had to think about this one. I did not really want to drop a huge amount of money on a plane ticket with such short notice, but I also did not want to miss such a wonderful opportunity. Nevertheless I called on the man up above and received my answer. My ticket has been booked and now I will be headed to MD next weekend. So excited!!! I have been envisioning myself becoming apart of this amazing fellowship program for so long. I have prayed numerous times for God to make this fellowship become a reality. Well I can see that process beginning, but I know that he is not just going to hand it to me without a sacrifice. So what if I have to fork over a couple of hundred dollars, if it leads to me doing what I love to do then it is definitely worth it in my eyes.

Co- Washing is the Best!

So two days ago I co-washed with Aussie Moist conditioner, followed it up with my Aphogee two minute reconstructor and then deep conditioned with Kera care Humecto and Olive oil. After, I put my aphogee leave in conditioner and the green tea restructerizer. I then did a braid out and when I took them down the next morning my hair was soft as a babys bottom! Could not believe how moisturized it felt! I am going to start doing co-washes at least once a week.

Heading out to the mall to relieve some stress :)

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
