New Outlook...New Attitude....2009 Resolution

2009 is almost here and it's time to make my resolution list. It's time for a new outlook and a new attitude....Yes it is! This year I am determined to stick to my goals and to make changes in my life that will be advantageous and beneficial. I encourage everyone to sit down and make a list. What improvements could you make? What do you need to eliminate? What goals do you want to set? Let's go into 2009 with a positive mind and give thanks to the Lord for alllowing us to see another year. Below are a list of my new year's resolutions.

1. Strengthen my relationship with my heavenly father. The Lord has been working miraculously in my life, but I know there is still work that has to be done. I know that I need to be closer to Him and I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that it happens.

2. Prepare rigorously and diligently for the June 2009 LSAT. My goal is to score a 165+ on the LSAT.

3. Follow a strict regimen to grow my hair to APL by December 2009.

4. Learn how to cornrow. I am embarrassed to admit this one...lol

5. To just enjoy life to the fullest.

My Braid Out...

Okay so I washed and deep conditioned my hair...towel dried...then I put on neutrogena silk touch leave in and some almond oil on my damp hair...my aunt put 6 cornrows in my hair... I left them in for about a day. When i took them out I just sprayed Kera care oil sheen on them and this was the end result. I love it!

And to add...I don't have any makeup on...I exfoliated my skin this morning with some brown sugar and almond oil...then moisturized with emu oil...left my skin very soft...

Back from vacation. :)

Had a great Christmas in Mississippi with my family. I ate and ate and ate....lol...had not had a home cooked meal in 6 months....way too long! Anyway, my aunt and grandma took me to a casino for this first time. I was so excited...I thought I was going to hit the jackpot....wrong!...I lost $40 bucks...so not cool...lol.

The best moments of my vacation, were by far, the heart to heart conversations with my grandma and aunts. We talked about everything...school, relationships, religion... just everything. I really enjoyed their words of wisdom and listening to their experiences. This vacation really made me realize that the spirit of Christmas is all about spending time with family and just be thankful for having one another. I really feel like I came back a wiser person...and that is always a blessing.

God is Awesome!!!

Today my boss gave me raise and the first person I thanked was God! He came right on time. The Lord heard me and delivered when I least expected it. How awesome he is!

God is working beautifully in my life right now. My relationship with Him has strengthened so much over the last couple of months it is unbelievable. I talk with Him everyday about my life and how I am trying so hard to be more like Him. He has brought me out the worst situations and through those experiences my faith in Him enhanced tremendously. No one but Jesus could have gotten me through the last couple of months. I literally was broken down to the core...depressed...upset...hurt...but He took me under his wing and gave me the Love and comfort I needed to overcome. I know this is just the beginning and I know God has so much in store for me...it is up to me to never doubt what he is capable of doing and to always believe that He will make a way. I tell you when I think about what He has done for me....all I can say is I am so blessed!

It Pays to Be Kind :)

Okay this winter weather down here in Dallas is wicked....20 degree temperatures...50 mile per hour wind gusts...not fun. I thought I would escape some of the frigid temperatures from the north... guess I was wrong.

Anyways I was dreading getting of work today, because I did not want to walk to the train station in the painfully unbearable 20 degree weather. So as I was walking to the train station... preparing to lose all feeling in my body, this woman out of nowhere pulls up beside me and offers to give me a ride . She said, "You are not walking any where in cold weather like this." In my mind I was saying, "Hallelujah...Thank you Jesus."She was such a lovely person and when she dropped me off she told me if I ever needed a ride to ask her. This woman did not have to do that, but out of the kindness of her heart she went out of her way to help me. I was so appreciative and so thankful that God sent her. Afterward, I decided that I would find more ways to serve others, especially during these trying times. I want to make someone feel the way this woman made me feel. She really made my day :)

As the saying goes, "sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can have such the biggest impacts in peoples lives."

Toodles!

Tried Something New....Curly Fohawk...

Okay so I did a twist out and decided to pin it up and this was the end result...my curley fohawk...lol...i thought it was edgy and cute...

Patience

Psalms 14:11..."Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord"

Patience has always been a weakness for me. I am the type of person that wants things right then and there. But, as I have matured and grown in my relationship with God I have found that patience is definitely a virtue. I have so many goals and ambitions set for myself and although it would be lovely to have it all right now...I know that they will happen when God wants them to happen. I just have to be keep my faith in the man up above and wait. Patience, Patience, Patience...

Law School!

I began studying for the June 2009 LSAT and so far it has not been too bad. I have come across some problems that made me go..."huh"...but I know with patience and persistence things will begin to click. The most difficult part for me is going to be adopting an ascetic lifestyle for the next 6 months. ARGHHH!!! But law school is where I want to be ... so I guess I just have to buckle down, put my faith in God and prepare for the journey ahead! June 9, 2009 here I come!

Just one of those dayz
